Walton, the country’s most popular AC brand, has released the world’s most environmentally friendly R-290 gas-rich Ecozone series new model AC in the market. Walton’s new model with massive power saving inverter technology will not harm the ozone layer in this AC refrigerant. Walton is the first fully eco-friendly R-290 gas powered AC manufacturing and marketing in Bangladesh. Walton’s Ecozone series new model ACT is certified by Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
On the occasion of World Ozone Day, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Managing Director (MD) SM Mahbubul Alam officially inaugurated the new model AC of ecOzone series at Walton corporate office in the capital on Sunday (September 15). Through this, Bangladesh has become the most environmentally friendly R290 gas rich AC producing country.

Walton Hi-Tech MD SM Mahbubul Alam said on the occasion that we have given special importance to the production of environment-friendly and energy-efficient green technology products. Therefore, we have developed an environment-friendly product production process at Walton Hi-Tech Park. In environmental protection, several projects of Walton are implemented and ongoing in coordination with Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate, Department of Environment and UNDP. In continuation of this, Walton is the first in Bangladesh to produce and market the most environmentally friendly R-290 gas rich AC. Which will directly and indirectly play a role in environmental protection.
He said, Walton has already completely stopped the use of CFC and HCFC gas which are harmful to the environment in AC. As a result, Bangladesh has gone ahead of many developed countries in the world in the production of environment-friendly air conditioners. As Walton is contributing to environmental protection by reducing carbon emissions, it is also ensuring sustainable use of electricity generated in the country.
The director of the Department of Environment said on the occasion. Ziaul Haque said, R-290 is the latest environment-friendly refrigerant technology used in AC. In very few countries of the developed world like Europe, this most environmentally friendly refrigerant is being used in AC. With the launch of Walton Ecozone series of ACs, Bangladesh has become an R-290 gas rich AC producing country. Which is very proud for us.
Walton AC Deputy CBO Sandeep Biswas said, the engineers of Walton’s Research and Innovation Department are working to deliver the world’s latest features to the customers, completely environment-friendly and energy-saving AC. Following this, they have developed a new model of Ecozone series AC. The R-290 refrigerant used in it will not deplete the ozone layer. Gas leak safety protection sensor is added to this AC. Which will give the customer environment-friendly maximum cooling performance and safety.
Ariful Islam, chief engineer of Walton Residential AC Research and Innovation Division, said that the Global Warming Potential (GWP) value of R290 gas is 3, which is 1810 for R22 gas. The lower the GWP value, the more environmentally friendly it is. This new model AC uses a wide range of advanced technologies and features, including intelligent inverters that save electricity. This AC’s ‘Four-D Air Flow’ technology ensures air flow to every corner of the room and its Turbo Cool technology instantly cools the room up to 40 percent faster.
Currently, Walton has released 1 ton and 1.5 ton ACs of Ecozone series in the market. The price of 1 ton AC is 59 thousand 290 taka and the price of 1.5 ton AC is 78 thousand 780 taka. Walton AC customers get up to 10 years warranty on compressors with 1 year replacement.
