jpnn.com – Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin was surprised that he was reported to the police for alleged bullying of students in the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) at Diponegoro University (Undip), which had also been acknowledged by the campus.
“That’s why this is strange, but, yes, it’s okay. Now, Undip itself has admitted that this incident occurred,” said Budi Gunadi at Gedung Sate Bandung, West Java, Saturday (14/9/2024).
Budi did not have a problem being reported to the police, because apart from being acknowledged by the university, there were also complaints received from victims who experienced this.
“We are not only confident, but we are doing our best because everyone is complaining about this,” he said.
The Minister of Health asked that all acts of bullying be ended and not covered up, especially since there have been fatalities that are strongly suspected to be due to acts of bullying.
“And this is not the first death, there have been cases before, but they were just covered up. So, it’s time we stop practices like this. We feel sorry for our young doctors,” he said.
Previously, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health Azhar Jaya were reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police by the Professional Solidarity Committee, last Thursday (12/9).
They were reported because they were considered to have spread fake news regarding a bullying case involving prospective specialist doctors at PPDS Undip.
