Morocco is represented at this meeting, which is being held at the request of the State of Palestine, by Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, and Ahmed Tazi, Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the League of Arab States.

This ministerial meeting will discuss the Arab and international action to confront the brutal Israeli crimes and attacks against the Palestinian people in the occupied city of Al-Quds, the capital of the State of Palestine, including the savage Israeli offensive against the worshipers during this blessed month of Ramadan and the attacks and plans to seize the homes of the maqdessis in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and other neighborhoods of the city in an attempt to empty the holy city of its inhabitants and displace its population, said the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Diab Al-Louh.

These practices come within the context of the systematic Israeli policy aimed at Judaizing Al-Quds and changing the legal and historical status of the city and its holy sites, the Palestinian diplomat stressed in a statement to the press, adding that the meeting will also discuss the repercussions of the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the need to take practical decisions and steps to convey a unified Arab message from the League of Arab States stressing the need to provide the necessary international protection to the Palestinian people against such systematic practices, continued violations and dangerous escalations.

The attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque requires swift action to prevent the continuation of these violations and put an end to the criminal practices of the settlers against the Palestinian people, the Palestinian ambassador continued.

Before the start of the meeting, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States issued a statement denouncing the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which killed 21 Palestinian martyrs, including 9 children, decrying these attacks as “blind and irresponsible, motivated by vengeful tendencies, internal political calculations and a show of force at the expense of the blood of children.”

The Arab League held Israel responsible for this dangerous escalation, noting that Israeli violations in Al-Quds and the government’s tolerance of Jewish extremists hostile to Palestinians and Arabs have led to this dangerous situation.

She called on the international community to act immediately to end the Israeli aggression in Al-Quds, Gaza and all the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that “Israeli provocations continue in Al-Quds, in disregard of the feelings of Muslims around the world who are preparing to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday.”
