Arrest of the President of the “Most Famous” Moroccan Club on Drug Trafficking Charges

/ The investigating judge at the Casablanca Court in Morocco decided on Friday to arrest the president of the Wydad Casablanca Club, one of the largest football clubs in Africa, Said Naciri, to investigate him on several charges, including “drug trafficking.”

Agence France-Presse quoted a source in his defense team as saying that the investigating judge had interrogated Saeed Naciri (54 years old) and the rest of the defendants in this case on Friday morning, and “decided to prosecute him in a state of arrest on several charges, including forgery in an official document, concluding agreements related to possession and distribution of drugs, and using a forged check.”

Local media reported that the judge also charged him with “money laundering.”

The investigation into this case includes 25 defendants, 21 of whom are under arrest, including the President of the Oriental Region Council (northeast of the country), Abdel Nabi Baoui (52 years old), according to the source.
