On Sofia Day, everyone will have the opportunity to watch together on a big screen the tennis match between the megastar of world tennis, Novak Djokovic, and the best Bulgarian tennis player in history, Grigor Dimitrov.
Sofia Municipality, Grigor Dimitrov Foundation and bTV Media Group are organizing a public screening of the charity match between Dimitrov and Djokovic. The match is today, September 17, at 20:00, and all the tickets for the “Arena Sofia” hall were bought in a matter of minutes.
Due to the huge interest, the municipality will put up a big screen on which the match can be watched by tennis fans who could not get a ticket for the hall. The screen will be in a place well known to Sofia residents – in the space behind the “Earth and People” museum. The event starts at 18:00 and will end with the end of the match between Dimitrov and the Olympic champion from Paris 2024. Admission is free.
“Since the match coincides with Sofia Day, we decided that this is a good opportunity to give the people of Sofia a pleasant experience. We are glad that the organizers from the Grigor Dimitrov Foundation and our media partners from bTV Media Group enthusiastically accepted the idea”, said Yana Genova, deputy mayor of Sofia for culture, education, sports and youth activities.
A limited number of deckchairs and benches are provided for spectators, but everyone can bring a blanket or a rug and place it in a comfortable place. The sponsors of the match will also be involved in the public broadcasting of the match. They promise various games and entertainment for the spectators before the start of the event, and balls with the autograph of the best Bulgarian tennis player will be given away.
