The Kuwait Football Association announced the resignation of the association’s board of directors from their positions after the completion of investigations into the failure to organize the match between the Kuwaiti national team and our national team, last Tuesday, within the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Kuwait Football Association stated in a statement followed by the (INA): “The resignation of the council was submitted, headed by Haif Al-Mutairi, the acting chairman of the council, the vice chairman Ahmed Aqla, and the members Mansour Pasha, Jamal Al-Otaibi, and Fatima Hayat.”
The resignation of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Football Association came after the board member, Abdul Aziz Al-Samhan, had previously announced his resignation individually, following the presentation of the results of the investigations into the events that took place during the match between the Kuwaiti national team and its Iraqi counterpart last week.
The Federation’s Board of Directors submitted its resignation to the acting Secretary-General, Saleh Al-Majroub, who is expected to call the Federation’s General Assembly to an extraordinary meeting during which the resignation will be approved and a temporary committee will be appointed to manage the Federation’s affairs during the coming period.
