Australian second rower Rob Simmons will be out for up to three months due to a ruptured biceps in his left arm, his club, ASM Clermont-Auvergne, announced on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old player, who has 106 caps with Australia, and has played in Clermont since 2023, was injured in the warm-up before the match lost in Créteil against Racing (33-20) on Saturday.
He had tests on Monday which confirmed the initial diagnosis. Rob Simmons will have surgery Thursday.
