I took out a mortgage of €50,000 in April 2016 at a variable rate for 15 years. The problem is that the installments are still high. The rate is 5.69% (3.54% + 2.15%). I cannot transfer to other banks because the residual mortgage is €24,000. I asked Ing Direct to reduce the spread but the answer is no. I have always paid the installments and have never missed a payment.
In 2016 I thought I had made a good deal by choosing Ing Direct, now I’m cursing that day, but why don’t they align the rates like other banks?
