Madhumita Sarkar, the actress of Indian Bengali cinema, has suffered a terrible road accident. Yesterday, when he was on his way to perform puja at the Bhoothanath Temple in Nimtala Ghat, Kolkata, a car carrying him was hit by a lorry. His car was twisted in it. But Madhumita was saved for a while.
Hindustan Times reported that Madhumita was sitting right behind the driver of her car at the time of the accident. The goods vehicle hit the side where Madhumita was sitting. Madhumita is healthy even though the car was damaged.
Narrating the incident, Madhumita Sarkar said, ‘I was going to perform puja. From Prinsep Ghat I was going towards Bhutnath Temple. Suddenly, the cargo car hit the car. The driver of the car tried to escape after the incident. But he was stopped. Finally I got down from the car. Video recording on mobile. In the meantime, the police came. I go to worship in another car. I have worshiped well.’
Expressing fear, Madhumita Sarkar said, ‘Something bad could have happened. By the grace of Mahadev it did not happen. I am perfectly healthy.’
It is to be noted that Madhumita Sarkar gained immense popularity by playing the role of ‘Pakhi’ in the serial ‘Bojhena Se Bojhena’ aired on Star Jalsa Television in West Bengal, India. The audience of Bangladesh knows him as ‘Pakhi’.
