Italian Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid’s coach, believes that his team did not deserve to win (2-0) against host Real Sociedad, in the fifth round of La Liga, at the “Anoeta” stadium.
Ancelotti said after the match: “It was a difficult match.. We did not deserve to win, because Real Sociedad put a lot of pressure.”
He added: “We persevered and suffered, and we had commitment, and I appreciate that a lot… because commitment in a high-quality team is not easy to find, and today we achieved it.”
Regarding the injuries sustained by the players, he replied: “Militão has nothing.. Brahim Diaz felt pain in the adductor muscle, and we will evaluate him tomorrow.”
He added: “I think the defenders can be rotated in the upcoming matches, as we will have more players, and we will be able to rotate more.. The players decide the penalty kicks, as they bear the responsibility, and things have been good.”
Ancelotti continued: “We are not fully fit, and this is normal, but the players are improving. We can talk about all the problems of the match, but the most important thing was to start well.”
He added: “We must take into account that we are not in our best condition. This is normal, we do not have 4 midfielders. I greatly appreciate the work done by the players who participated today.”
Regarding his star player, Kylian Mbappe, he said: “I see him more energetic and active. He is very dangerous, and he harmonizes well with Vinicius and the strikers. He is improving a lot. I liked his match very much.”
