The actress shared updates about her illness with Silvia Toffanin during «Verissimo». «Life is crazy like this. But I have to say something crazy: it has been the most beautiful year of my life, I feel surrounded by love. Everything will be fine»
Eleonora Giorgi, a guest on «Verissimo», shared the latest updates on her pancreatic cancer treatments with Silvia Toffanin on Sunday afternoon. She has been fighting this illness for several months.
The 70-year-old actress stated: «The story began 10 and a half months ago. Chemotherapy has allowed the main tumor to be removed, but pancreatic cancer creates a sort of coating. There have been some ‘little surprises’; for 3 months we tried to eliminate them, but it only partially worked. The metastases have enlarged, and I will undergo important tests tomorrow and the day after. They will send the samples abroad, to America. A key for 14% of patients was found in Houston. We are fighting with all our might. The best solution would be to attack the metastases with radiation therapy. The alternative is incredibly crazy; we found out two days ago. Everything will be fine, but if it doesn’t go well, I say goodbye to everyone… I feel overwhelmed by love and affection, I hold no resentment».
And finally, Giorgi commented: «Life is like this. It’s crazy; priorities change: it happens, it can be worse. Life is like poker; you can never know. We must hope that everything goes well, but I am lucid, rational, and fatalistic. Fate hits you, and you don’t understand why. There’s a madness I have to say: this has been the most beautiful year of my life; I am a lucky person. Everything will be fine».
Her thoughts turn to her grandson Gabriele: «I hope not to leave too soon; I am his biggest accomplice».
