Milan is launching its , which will present trends in women’s fashion for the spring-summer 2025 season in an edition marked by a slowdown in this key sector for the Italian economy, reported AFP.

Turnover in the Italian fashion industry fell 6.1 percent in the first half of the year, and forecasts are for a drop of 3.5 percent for the full year compared to 2023, according to data published by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.

A decline in sales was reported by luxury goods giants LVMH and Kering, owners of fashion houses such as Fendi, Gucci and Bottega Veneta.

This situation forces fashion houses to restructure, reorganize their teams and diversify their activities.

Against this gloomy background, “Fendi” opens the parade, and during the rest of the week there will be reviews of “Prada”, “Gucci”, “Botega Veneta”, “Dolce and Gabbana”, “Versace”.

The calendar remains packed, with one day more than in previous years. A total of 174 events are planned until Sunday – 57 physical and eight online reviews, 70 presentations, six presentations by prior arrangement and 33 events.

Giorgio Armani, for his part, chose New York to present his women’s collections on October 17, writes BTA.

The iconic 90-year-old designer will still attend two shows in Milan on Thursday for his Emporio Armani line.

Montclair has also dropped Milan this season in favor of Shanghai for its Oct. 19 show. Among the absentees is fashion house “Tom Ford”, which recently announced its new creative director Ayder Ackerman.
