In this race, cyclists covered 209.1 kilometers in Montreal, divided into 17 laps, each of which covered a steep hill of 6.2%.

About 23 kilometers before the finish, this year’s “Giro d’Italia” and “Tour de France” champion, Slovenian Tadej Pogačar (UAE) left in a solo breakaway, who celebrated a convincing victory, reaching the finish line in five hours, 28 minutes and 15 seconds.

The second place winner from Spain Peljo Bilbao (“Bahrain – Victorious”) also crossed the finish line alone, who lost 24 seconds, but 16 seconds later the battle for the third position took place in a group of 12 cyclists. The Frenchman Gilliens Alaphilips (“Soudal Quick-Step”) was unbeaten, while the fourth in this group was Skujiņš (“Lidl-Trek”).

Sixth place gave Skujin 175 UCI points, which is his third highest score this season.

On the other hand, Krist Neiland (“Israel – Premier Tech”) finished in the group 13 minutes and 29 seconds after the winner, occupying the 67th place. “Israel – Premier Tech” was represented by four Canadian cyclists and the best result was achieved by Michael Woods, who finished eighth.

On Friday, Skujiņš and Neiland won the 22nd and 40th place respectively in the “Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec”.
