The Associated Press reported that “US President Joe Biden made a phone call to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, a day after the assassination attempt he was subjected to in Florida.”

According to what the agency quoted from the White House, “the two men had a friendly conversation, and Biden expressed his relief that the former president is safe.”

“We had a very nice call, it was about Secret Service protection,” Trump said in a statement released by his campaign.

Earlier, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump blamed the “speech” of President Joe Biden and his Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris for what appeared to be an assassination attempt on him while he was at his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump said in an interview with the American website “Fox News”, “The accused shooter believed in the speech of “Biden and Harris”, and acted accordingly,” adding: “Their speech caused me to be shot, while I am the one who will save the country, and they are the ones who are completely destroying it.”

The US media revealed the name of the suspect who was arrested in the shooting incident at a private resort for Republican presidential candidate, former President Donald Trump, while the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, said that it appeared to be a “second assassination attempt” near a golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Trump had previously been slightly injured in his ear in a shooting during an election rally he held in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that “Secret Service agents spotted a gunman in the woods near the golf course and opened fire on him,” adding that “the gunman dropped an AK-47 assault rifle and fled in a vehicle but was arrested.”
