Salima Imtiaz has been nominated as Pakistan’s first woman umpire by ICC’s International Panel of Development. Through this he qualified to officiate matches in international bilateral series and ICC events.

Salima is Pakistan’s first woman umpire in ICC

Pakistan and South Africa girls will meet in Multan on Monday (September 16). And he will be umpiring in this international match.

Salima said, ‘Actually, this journey of mine is hard work and personal sacrifices. But now standing in a new chapter seems like I deserve it. It is not just my achievement or victory alone. It is a win for every aspiring women cricketer and umpire in Pakistan. I hope my success will inspire many more women who want to make their mark in this sport.’

Salima Imtiaz is the mother of Pakistani women cricketer Kainat Imtiaz. Who has played 40 international matches for Pakistan.

Salima started umpiring in 2008 under the supervision of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Prior to this he officiated at the 2022 Asia Cup. He also served in the 2023 Emerging Asia Cup.
