According to the indictment released by the American media, a Secret Service agent in charge of protecting former President Trump was walking along the edge of the golf course at around 1:31 p.m. on the 15th when he saw what appeared to be a rifle in a tree-lined area and fired in that direction.

Rouse then emerged from the tree and fled in a Nissan SUV, and was arrested on I-95 around 2:14 p.m.

At the location where Rouse was staying, a digital camera, two bags, a loaded SKS series rifle with a scope and a black plastic bag containing food were found.

Rouse was convicted in 2002 in North Carolina of possession of a weapon of mass destruction and in 2010 in North Carolina of multiple counts of possession of stolen property, the release said.

In addition, when the investigative authorities checked Rouse’s cell phone records, it was confirmed that he stayed near the scene of the incident for almost 12 hours, from 1:59 a.m. to 1:31 p.m. on the 15th.

But investigators said Rouse never saw Trump in person on the golf course.

Criticism is likely to be raised as to why the Secret Service did not detect the threat sooner, given that the suspect had been in the area for so long.

According to foreign media outlets such as CNN, Rouse’s latest address is Hawaii, but he spent most of his life in North Carolina. In Hawaii, he is known to have done business in Honolulu.

He has also self-published on the Ukraine war and geopolitics, in which he describes Trump as an “idiot,” a “buffoon,” and a “fool.” He has also criticized the withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) as a mistake.

X (formerly Twitter) is said to have hinted at voting for Trump in the past. “You were my choice in 2106 (2016 misspelled),” he wrote, “(But) we are all sorely disappointed and you seem to be getting worse.” He added in the same post, “I would be happy if you were gone.”

It was also revealed that Rouss showed great interest in the Ukrainian issue, to the point that when the Ukrainian war broke out, he wrote on social networking services (SNS), “I am willing to go to the Ukrainian border and die.”
