Filling an entire year with music. This is the project of the Giuseppe Savani Aps choir to celebrate an important milestone: 50 years since its foundation in September 1974. For this reason, from September 2024 to September 2025, the choir will retrace the various artistic stages, transforming them into six concert and spectacular initiatives, one every two months, to remember, enjoy the present and pass on.

That September 1974

“In September 1974, a ‘parish’ choral group was formed in the church of San Bernardino Realino – says Villiam Stefani, president of the Savani choir -. Among the founders were the parish priest Don Angelo Chiossi, Iolanda Battini, Luisa Cavazzoli Lugli. In the course of a few months, the choir decided to open up to the city, going beyond the initial parish dimension, marking the rebirth of choral singing in the city and naming the group after the musician from Carpi, Giuseppe Savani, who between the 19th and 20th centuries had dedicated himself to training choirs for religious functions in the Cathedral and for opera performances in the Municipal Theater.
