The National Health Superintendency extended the measure of forced administrative intervention to manage that currently governs the EPS Famisanar for one year, that is, until September 15, 2025.

According to the monitoring entity, Famisanar, despite having made progress during a year of intervention, has not fully met the objectives established in the action plan approved to achieve its stabilization and end the measure.

The analysis indicates that the EPS still has a “critical financial situation”, as it does not comply with the conditions for financial authorization, such as minimum capital, adequate equity and technical reserves.

According to the resolution issued by this Superintendency, the EPS continues to ignore what is indicated in the protection rulings, which is evident in the monthly reports sent to the Supersalud through different tools that verify said condition.

Likewise, Famisanar continues to fail to comply with the monitoring of the contracts it currently has with health service providers and several of its suppliers.

In addition, Supersalud ordered the EPS to carry out 15 activities to ensure decent care for its affiliated population. It should be noted that this EPS provides its services in 16 departments and 143 municipalities in the country, with a population of 2.8 million users.

Within the scope of its powers, the National Health Superintendency carried out inspection and surveillance actions on the San Ignacio University Hospital in the city of Bogotá, after receiving a technical report from the Ministry of National Education.

This entity was notified of this report through file No. 2024-EE-257921 dated September 10, 2024. Said document was prepared by a group of professionals from the technical team of the Inspection and Surveillance Subdirectorate of the Ministry of Education, on the administrative and academic components, based on the information and documents provided by the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, within the framework of the inspection and surveillance visit carried out on July 24 and 25, 2024.
