He put on two 30-plus runs with Birjon Fortune and Nandre Berger towards the end. South Africa’s run has crossed 100. Otherwise they could have been all out by a hundred runs.

Without Mulder, Bjorn scored 16 with 2 fours, Tony DiGeorge scored 11 with 1 four and Kyle Vereni scored 10 runs with 2 fours.

Earlier in the 2019 ODI World Cup against South Africa in Cardiff, Afghanistan batted first and were bowled out for 125 runs. In reply, the Proteas won by losing 1 wicket in 28.4 overs. Then in the 2023 ODI World Cup in Ahmedabad, Afghanistan batted first and were bowled out for 244 runs. In reply, South Africa scored 247 runs for 5 wickets in 47.3 overs to secure victory.

It remains to be seen whether Afghanistan can pull off a first-ever win today, besides all-out the Proteas.
