The Cartagena side lost 2-1 to Real Cundinamarca in a match valid for date 11 of the Betplay Tournament held at the Enrique Olaya Herrera Stadium in the city of Bogotá. The match had few thrills in the first half due to the blocks in the second third that both teams set up.
The clearest chance in the first 45 minutes fell to the home team of Luis Payares, behind Darwin Palomeque, who almost turned it into an own goal when the auriverde defender attempted to clear the ball.
In the second half, Real Cundinamarca opened the scoring in the 53rd minute following a mistake in the clearance by newly introduced Fabián Cuero. The home team took advantage of a counterattack that ended in a double shot, where Gilberth Parra, after a rebound from goalkeeper Aldo Montes, sent it to the back of the net.
After the goal, Real Cartagena became more involved in the match with a greater presence in the rival area. In the 80th minute, the auriverdes equalized the match from a side set piece taken by Jairo Ditta. Deivi Barrios headed the ball past goalkeeper Kevin Cataño, making it 1-1.

With this defeat, Sebastián Viera’s unbeaten run as the head coach of the auriverde team comes to an end, having achieved five consecutive victories. Real Cartagena will play in the next round against Leones at the Jaime Morón Stadium on Sunday, September 22, at 5:30 PM.
For now, the auriverdes sit fourth with 19 points, awaiting the resolution from Dimayor that will award them the points from the match against Atlético FC. With those three points, the Cartagena team would move up to third place, below Real Cundinamarca and on equal points with Unión Magdalena.
