“I congratulate Morocco for the foresight it has shown in bringing Gitex to Africa,” said Mr. Alausa in an interview with MAP on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of Gitex Africa which is being held in the ochre city, saying he was “impressed” by the level of organization of this international event.

In this sense, he indicated that “we need an event of this magnitude in Africa and I am happy that Morocco is leading the way”, by creating an environment favorable to the development of the continent.

This edition is a great success, as evidenced by the large number of visitors, noted the minister, affirming that Gitex Africa will, without a doubt, be an incubator to promote technological development in Africa.

Stressing the importance of cooperation between African countries, Mr. Alausa affirmed that Morocco, which organized this technological grand mass for the benefit of all of Africa, is paving the way for more collaboration.

Gitex Africa 2024, which aims to foster technological development, propel a large number of start-ups and further use technology to improve the lives of Africans, embodies the spirit of collaboration par excellence, he said.

Furthermore, the Nigerian minister stressed that digitalization and artificial intelligence ecosystems will benefit the health sector in Africa, which will experience a digital revolution, including in the field of AI.

Improving health services and covering remote areas in Africa depends on technology, which offers multiple opportunities for the sector, including telemedicine, he noted.
