Crime, Bolzano worse than Trento: more thefts and robberies, 3,109 reports per 100,000 inhabitants – Bolzano

BOLZANO. Bolzano overtakes Trento in the 2024 crime index (crimes related to 2023), published by the Sole 24 ore. The capital of South Tyrol in fact occupies the 54th position among the Italian provinces with 3,109 complaints per 100,000 inhabitants, while the Trentino capital is only in 88th place with 2,643.

However, both capitals are far from Milano which leads the ranking with almost 7,100 reports per 100,000 inhabitants. Rome (6,071) and Florence (6,053) complete the podium. Bringing up the rear, or rather champions of safety, are Treviso (2,258), Potenza (1,935) and Oristano (1.51).

Bolzano climbs two positions, while Trento drops four, but both are substantially in line with previous years. Comparing the two indices, Trentino has recorded more voluntary homicides than Alto Adige (3 against 2). The situation is different for sexual violence (86 Bolzano and 66 Trento)for manslaughter (11 and 10), battery (280 and 163) and malicious injury (686 and 474).

The South Tyroleans also reported more thefts (7,043 versus 5,208 in Trento)robberies (236 against 91). Also for narcotics, Alto Adige detaches Trentino (376 against 297).
