Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said: “He called for the UN Security Council to meet urgently to discuss the explosion of communication devices in Lebanon.”
He added, “The Zionist enemy ignores all international laws,” pointing out that “the government will do everything in its power to prevent war and secure peace.”
Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health of Lebanon announced the death of 9 citizens and the injury of more than 300 people as a result of new explosions that affected wireless devices.
The Lebanese News Agency reported, “Three citizens were killed as a result of a new cyber attack targeting pager devices and wireless communication methods,” which explained, “The wounded were transferred to Baalbek hospitals.”
A security source told Reuters: “The communication devices that exploded across Lebanon are handheld wireless communication devices and are different from the pager devices that exploded yesterday.”
Yesterday, Beirut announced the death of 8 people, including a girl, and the injury of about 2,750 in the south of Lebanon and in the southern suburbs of Beirut, after the explosion of the wireless communication devices they were using.
Hezbollah and the Lebanese government have accused the Zionist entity of responsibility for the explosion of hundreds of pagers.
