Brega Oil Marketing Company confirmed the continuation of fuel supply operations to stations in Sabha after the flooding of the city’s warehouse, which led to the disruption of the process of executing orders for gasoline, diesel and cooking gas.
This confirmation came from the official spokesman for the Brega Company, Ahmed Al-Maslati, in a statement to Libya Al-Ahrar, in which he indicated that the company is working on implementing an alternative plan that includes direct supply to the stations through coordination with distribution companies and security agencies, with a focus on the stations that have energy alternatives, due to the power outage.
Al-Maslati added that Brega relies on direct transfers from the warehouses of Zawiya and Misurata, confirming the sending of tankers loaded with 1.1 million liters of gasoline and 250 thousand liters of diesel, in addition to sending 3,000 cylinders through the Al-Hani oil warehouse at dawn today.
Al-Maslati explained that the company is working to restart the filling platforms and liquefied gas rotors after pumping water from in front of the Sabha warehouse, in cooperation with the General Administration of Occupational Health and Safety and the General Company for Water and Sanitation.
Al-Maslati added that the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Brega Company, Fouad Balrahim, directed the dispatch of a convoy carrying equipment and maintenance tools to expedite the water suction operations and restart the Sabha oil depot.
This comes after heavy rains that the city has not seen in 17 years, which led to the disruption of the electrical grid and various material damages, in addition to human injuries estimated at two deaths and about 50 injuries.
