Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked the country’s youth to use the time they get between work to have physical relations. Putin has appealed to Russians to have sex whenever they get time during lunch and coffee breaks at their workplaces. Vladimir Putin has made this appeal in an effort to overcome the deepening crisis due to the country’s falling birth rate. Putin said that the country is currently facing a crisis, we are facing a population shortage and to deal with this, the youth should focus on having more children.
According to a Metro report, the fertility rate in Russia, that is, the rate at which a woman gives birth to children in her lifetime, is 1.5. To keep the population of a country stable, this rate should be 2.1. If it is less than this, the population starts decreasing. In such a situation, the population of Russia is decreasing rapidly. This has created serious concern for the government of the country. On the one hand, fewer children are being born, and on the other hand, due to the war with Ukraine, a large number of Russian youth have left the country, which has increased the crisis even more. Drawing attention to this, Putin has urged people to have physical relations in offices and have more children.
Today it is a question of protection of Russian people: Putin
Putin said that the protection of the Russian people is our top national priority. The fate of Russia will depend on how many of us will be there. This is a question of national importance and we should not ignore it. Russian Health Minister Dr. Yevgeny Shestopalov supported Putin’s statement and said that people make excuses for not having children because of work, the President has given advice for them. He said that saying that you are very busy at work is a useless excuse. If that is the case, then you can establish a relationship during the break.
Putin has previously warned people about the decline in Russia’s population. In December last year, he urged Russian women to give birth to at least eight children and form large families. In fact, Russia’s birth rate has reached its lowest level since 1999. In the month of June this year, the number of children born has come down below one lakh. According to data published by Rosstat, 599,600 children were born in Russia in the first half of 2024, which is 16,000 less than the same period of 2023. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in July that this is disastrous for the future of the country.
