Follow-up – WAA The Libyan Navy announced the rescue of 41 illegal immigrants and 63 others were considered missing after the sinking of a rubber boat carrying them off the Libyan coast. Survivors reported that the boat that sank off the coast of Qarabulli (50 km east of Tripoli) was carrying 104 people, which means that the number of missing is 63. A Libyan Navy ship docked in Tripoli on Monday with 235 immigrants on board who were rescued in two separate operations in the same area. Among the survivors were 54 children and 29 women. With the new sinking incident, the number of immigrants who went missing in the Mediterranean between Friday and Sunday has risen to 170. On Friday, the bodies of three children were recovered and about 100 immigrants were considered missing after their boat sank, in an incident from which only 16 immigrants, all young men, survived.
