North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles on Wednesday morning, the second such test within a week, Seoul announced.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said that “several short-range ballistic missiles were detected and (are analyzing) that were launched towards the northeast at approximately 06:50 (Tuesday 21:50 GMT). “
She added, “In anticipation of further launches, our armed forces have strengthened their surveillance and monitoring, while closely exchanging information” with their Japanese and American allies.
Afterwards, Tokyo announced that it had monitored the launch of these missiles.
The Japanese Coast Guard reported that they detected a missile falling into the sea.
The Coast Guard said in a statement, “Ships are asked to pay attention to the information they receive, and if they see projectiles falling, not to contact them, but to report it to the Coast Guard.”
Last Thursday, North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles towards the sea.
This was the first major missile test since early July.
In his statement, South Korea’s Chief of Staff said, “We strongly condemn North Korea’s missile launches,” warning that this missile test “is a clear provocation that seriously endangers peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula .”
North Korea regularly conducts weapons tests, amid rising tensions with its southern neighbor.
Relations between the two Koreas have reached their lowest levels in recent years, with North Korea recently announcing that it had deployed 250 ballistic missile launchers along the country’s southern border.
