A total of 3,350 families from around twenty municipalities in the province of Khenifra will benefit from this operation which is being implemented on the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI.
The operation began in the province of Khénifra in the rural commune of Sidi Yahya Ou Saad located at an altitude of over 1,860 meters.
In a statement to M24, the continuous news channel of MAP, the representative of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, Youssef Rabouli, indicated that humanitarian aid will be distributed to the inhabitants of the Douars located in the rural and mountainous areas of the province of Khenifra which is currently experiencing a major cold snap.
The douars to benefit from this operation are located at an altitude of over 1,500 meters and experience freezing temperatures during the winter season, he stressed, noting that 3,350 kits were allocated to the province of Khenifra and will be given to the target populations at 20 distribution points.
Mr. Rabouli noted that 526 kits were distributed today in the locality of Moulay Yaacoub, which falls under the territorial community of Sidi Yahya Oussaad (Qaïda d’El kbab).
Also, some 336 kits will also be distributed during this day to the inhabitants of Krouchen under the territorial community of Aït Saadelli, he said.
A significant human and logistical system has been deployed in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and local authorities to make this operation a success. As part of this, each household will benefit from a support kit consisting of food products (flour, rice, sugar, tea, salt, oil and powdered milk) and blankets.
HM King Mohammed VI has given His High Instructions to immediately launch the “Grand Froid” solidarity action in favor of rural populations exposed to the significant drop in temperatures in the provinces of the Grand and Middle Atlas.
For this first phase of intervention, the operation will target households in the four provinces of Midelt, Khénifra, Azilal and Al Haouz.
