The newspaper quoted officials in the know as saying that the Zionist entity had hidden explosives inside a batch of Taiwanese pagers imported into Lebanon.
The officials said Hezbollah requested more than 3,000 communication devices from the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, and said a small explosive material had been planted near the battery of each device.
They explained that the communication devices requested by Hezbollah were disrupted before it came to Lebanon.
In the same context, Al-Monitor newspaper cited intelligence sources as saying that thousands of devices obtained by Hezbollah were captured by the Zionists before being delivered to the party.
The sources said that the Zionist entity carried out the attack after gathering information that two Hezbollah members discovered the penetration of the devices, and that the original plan was to blow them up in the event of a war to gain a strategic advantage .
For its part, the American CNN network cited sources that the bombing of the hostages in Lebanon was a joint operation between the Mossad and the entity’s army.
The American Wall Street Journal said people familiar with the matter said the damaged communication devices came from a new shipment recently received by Hezbollah.
The American newspaper also cited security company Lubek International as saying that the cause of the explosion was software that raised the temperature of the batteries, causing them to explode or charge remotely.
