This day, held on January 17, included a presentation of the project and its components and provided an opportunity for discussions with local stakeholders and representatives of the population, in order to inform them about the new liquid sanitation project of the Lalla Mimouna center and its positive impact and to raise their awareness of the importance of liquid sanitation for the preservation of the environment and the sustainable management of water resources, indicates a press release from ONEE.
This project, which costs 80 million dirhams, is being carried out by ONEE with the financial support of the French Development Agency (AFD), the German Development Bank (KFW), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Union (EU).
It consists of the construction and equipment of a treatment plant with a capacity of 1186 m3/day, two pumping stations, a discharge pipe with a length of 5 km and the installation of a new wastewater collection network over a length of 45 km as well as the creation of more than 2,500 connections for the benefit of a beneficiary population estimated at 15,767 inhabitants.
This important project is part of the National Program for Shared Liquid Sanitation and reuse of treated wastewater (PNAM), just as the Lalla Mimouna center is one of the centers registered in the Strategic Plan for Integrated and Sustainable Development of rural communities in the province of Kenitra.
It will improve the living conditions of the beneficiary populations and the preservation of water resources, and will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the Lalla Mimouna commune.
