President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) pointed out the responsibility of the United States for the violence that is taking place in CuliacanSinaloa; this is due to its intervention in the dispute between Los Chapitos and Ismael Zambada García, aka the May Zambada.

During his Morning conference today, Thursday, September 19President López Obrador explained that the violence crisis in Sinaloa was generated after the arrest of Mayo Zambada in El Paso, Texas, who was kidnapped to get to that point by Joaquin Guzman Lopez, son of Joaquin Guzman Loera, alias “El Chapo” Guzman.

AMLO considered this arrest as an act “completely irregular” Well, he said that the kidnapping of Mayo Zambada took place “through an agreement” to be transferred to the United States.

In this regard, he explained that this was what generated a crisis of violence in Culiacán due to a dispute between Los Chapitos and the Mayo Zambada group.

AMLO claims that the United States agreed to the arrest of Mayo Zambada and this generated violence in Culiacán

AMLO pointed out the responsibility of USA for the violence crisis in Culiacan. In press conference at the National Palace, explained that the arrest of Mayo Zambada occurred after an agreement with the United States Department of Justice.

“They made an agreement and did not inform us”said the president, who specified that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) does not have information on this case.

“According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the United States Department of Justice was holding talks with one of the criminal groups in Sinaloa and they had agreements, they even released or gave a different status to one of the detainees in the United States, at the same time that they took another person away.”

In light of the measures taken by the United States, López Obrador asked for an explanation and pointed to this “agreement” as the origin of the violence in Culiacán where until now the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) has reported 30 civilians and 2 soldiers killed.

“And that requires an explanation because if we are now facing a situation of instability and confrontation in Sinaloa, it is because they made that decision (…) In Sinaloa there was not the violence that there is now, nor is it as one might think, that it is completely out of control, but we have had to take special measures and move elements of the armed forces and we have also lost officers.”

AMLO reproaches the United States for intervening in the Sinaloa Cartel dispute

AMLO He assured that the arrest in USA of the May Zambada It was a “completely irregular affair” He explained that the Mexican Government had no involvement in this, nor does the FGR know the details of this operation.

“It is not the same when the Mexican State intervenes as when a completely irregular matter occurs, such as when someone is kidnapped through an agreement and taken to the United States.”

AMLO

In this regard, the president said that he is not convinced by this information and that the details of this arrest continue to be requested: ““What was the agreement?”he declared.

“If it is really to prevent drug trafficking and the continued entry of fentanyl from Mexico, as it does from Canada, let’s see if that is it or if it is a decision that is taken, as always, to show that the problem of fentanyl consumption is being addressed just for propaganda.”
