The Ministry of Youth and Sports organizes the European Week of Sports #BeActive for the tenth year in a row. In the period 23-30, the initiative will offer numerous events to promote active sports, improve the physical activity of the population and promote healthy eating, the press center of the ministry announced.
The campaign will start on September 23 at 11:00 a.m. in Blagoevgrad, and the Sports Village and Sports Night #BeActiveNight will be held on September 28 at 4:00 p.m. in front of the NDK in the capital.
The motto of the initiative this year is “Be active, stay in shape, think green”, and events will be held in Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Samokov, Kazanlak, Nova Zagora, Haskovo, Kardjali and Nedelino.
#BeActive is an initiative of the European Commission to promote sport and physical activity for EU citizens. The national coordinator for Bulgaria is the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the implementation of the project is financed by the “Erasmus +” program of the European Union.
Highlights from the program of the European Week of Sport:
– September 23, 11:00 a.m. – #BeActive Festival – Official opening of the European Week of Sports on the square in front of the Chamber Opera in Blagoevgrad;
– September 24 – #BeActive sports holiday at “Arena Samokov”;
– September 25 – #BeActive water aerobics – organized jointly with the Bulgarian Federation “Sports for All” and Orange Fitness, Sofia;
– September 26 – Online #BeActiveAtHome training aimed at young people who work from home, organized by Orange Fitness;
– September 27 – #BeInclusive – Sports event dedicated to adapted sports and physical activity, organized jointly with the Bulgarian Sports Development Association;
– September 27 – Celebrating the European Day of Sports at School;
– September 28, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – #BeActive Sports village of outdoor sports in front of the NDK in the capital;
– September 28, 6:00 p.m. – #BeActive Sports Night in front of the NDK in Sofia;
– September 29, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Open day in fitness centers in Sofia and the country. Partners of the Ministry of Youth and Sports are the PULSE chain of fitness centers and the Athletic Fitness clubs;
– September 30 – October 4 – #BeActive Tour 2024 initiative in the cities of Kazanlak, Nova Zagora, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Nedelino;
– October 5 – #BeActive football meeting – Sports event aimed at children aged 6-7 years, organized in partnership with “Petkov Academy” Football Club;
– September – November – #BeActive Campaign 2024 in the country – Sports events in the country under the motto of the European Week of Sports #BeActive Be active;
– October – November – #BeActive Green contact meetings;
