BRAC Bank has given financial support to set up an oxygen plant in the new building of Kidney Foundation Sylhet. This support reiterates the bank’s commitment to contribute to the healthcare sector.
This initiative comes under BRAC Bank’s unique and inclusive initiative in the health sector, ‘BRAC Bank Aparajeya Ami’, which aims to ensure essential healthcare for poor people across Bangladesh.
A floor has been named after the visionary founder of BRAC, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, at the newly inaugurated Kidney Foundation Sylhet to provide life-saving kidney dialysis services to patients. As part of BRAC Bank’s ongoing commitment to support financially disadvantaged communities, the bank has also announced financial assistance to the Sir Abed Kidney Dialysis Fund to provide free dialysis services to underprivileged patients.
BRAC Bank Chairperson Meheryar M Hasan was present as the chief guest at the contract signing ceremony organized at the foundation on September 5. He said about this initiative, we feel very honored to contribute to this important initiative on behalf of BRAC Bank. This initiative also upholds Sir Fazle Hasan Abed’s spirit of service and compassion. We believe that the oxygen plant will play an important role in ensuring the necessary medical care for patients. Through Sir Abed Kidney Dialysis Fund we want to reduce the healthcare cost of financially disadvantaged people. Through the ‘BRAC Bank Aparajeya I’ initiative, our mission is to achieve the welfare of the people of the society. In this way we will help ensure good health and justice in society.
BRAC Bank Deputy Managing Director and Head of Branch Distribution Network Sheikh Mohammad Ashfaq, Head of Communication Ikram Kabir and Secretary General of Kidney Foundation Sylhet Colonel (retd) Mohammad Abdus Salam were also present at the signing ceremony.
