Owners of iPhones with iOS 16 will soon no longer receive updates for their Netflix app. Which models are affected.
Netflix is ending support for its app under iOS 16. This is reported by the magazine “Macrumors”. This affects all iPhones that are running iOS 16 and cannot be updated to iOS 17.
This includes the iPhone X released in 2017, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and all Apple phones produced before that. The company only offers iOS 17 and iOS 18 for the newer devices, under which Netflix continues to support its app.
The same applies to owners of the iPad Pro (1st generation) and the iPad (5th generation). The devices run iPadOS 16. Netflix is also phasing out support for its app for this version of the Apple operating system.

Affected iPhone users who want to continue to receive bug fixes and updates for their Netflix app can only do one thing: switch to a device that supports iOS 17 or the new iOS 18. You can find out which devices these are here.
As “Macrumors” further reports, the magazine became aware of the impending end of support for iOS 16 through a code entry in the Netflix app.
It does state that support is ending, but not when, it says. This will probably happen with one of the next updates to the app in the coming weeks. There is no official announcement from Netflix about the end of support for its app.
