The presidential candidate is not happy with the politically active actor – and recently railed against him. Now George Clooney is reacting.
The election campaign in the USA is entering its hot phase: On November 5th, Americans will decide whether Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Kamala Harris will move into the White House. It is already clear who will get George Clooney’s vote: the Hollywood star makes no secret of his support for Harris.
As a guest on late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, he spoke about Trump. The former president had previously lashed out at the actor and criticized his political involvement. “Now fake movie actor George Clooney, who has never managed to make a movie that’s even remotely great, is getting involved,” Trump posted on his platform Truth Social after the 63-year-old wrote a guest article in the New York Times.
“What does Clooney know about anything? He should get out of politics and go back to television,” he ranted at the time. “I will do that if he does it,” the actor replied when asked by Jimmy Kimmel about Trump’s tirade. “That would be a compromise I would be willing to make.” The studio audience applauded thunderously for this suggestion.
George Clooney became internationally known in the mid-nineties as pediatrician Doug Ross in the TV hospital series “ER.” He played the role from 1994 to 1999 and subsequently became one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood.
Donald Trump can also look back on a long television career. Between 2004 and 2015, he was the producer and host of the reality TV shows “The Apprentice” and “The Celebrity Apprentice.” He has also made dozens of cameo appearances in films, TV series and commercials since the 1980s.
