‘No criminal will defeat this presidency’ – La Nación

On Monday morning, July 15, President Daniel Noboa gave the sovereign guarantee for the Prefecture of Manabí to access a $43.4 million loan that will be used for the construction of three road projects in the province.

‘Manabí was promised a lot and was robbed of everything, except the spirit and potential of its people’

The president also declared: “We will not let ourselves be defeated by criminals. No criminal will defeat this presidency. We are the ones who defeat criminals,” said Noboa.

Manabí will receive USD 43.4 million as a direct loan from the Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) for road works. This was done through the signing of a sovereign guarantee that the Ministry of Economy and Finance delivered to the Prefecture of Manabí on the morning of Monday, July 15, 2024.

Three projects will be prioritized with this amount. These works are part of the project called “Bicentennial Roads”:

1. Calceta – Quiroga – El Desvío road: connects the cantons of Bolívar and Pichincha. It is 53.6 km long.
2. Ayacucho-La Union-San Pablo de Pueblo Nuevo-San Juan de las Cucarachas – Agua Fria road: will run from the Santa Ana canton to the Balzar canton, bordering Guayas. There are 43 km of works.
3. Via Colón – Quimis: connects Portoviejo-Jipijapa and Montecristi. The section is 22 kilometers long
