Guro-gu will hold the ‘2nd Onbodeum Festival’ on the 24th to commemorate Overcoming Dementia Day. Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) will hold the ‘2nd Onbodeum Festival’ on September 24th at 1 PM at Oryu-dong Small Park (Seohaean-ro Resident Shelter) for dementia patients, their families, and local residents to commemorate Overcoming Dementia Day.

Dementia Overcoming Day is a national holiday that is celebrated on September 21st every year to raise awareness of the importance of dementia management and to build a national consensus to overcome dementia.

The district plans to hold a festival this year, following last year, with the participation of approximately 300 people, including seniors with dementia, their families, and local residents, and take the lead in creating a dementia-friendly culture and improving dementia awareness.

The festival will be held in two parts: Part 1: a commemorative event and Part 2: an experience space operation.

Part 1 of the commemorative event will include an opening ceremony, greetings, congratulatory remarks, commemorative photos, and time to follow dementia prevention exercises. Afterwards, there will be a congratulatory performance by dementia prevention program members and Oryu 2-dong resident autonomy class members, including ukulele and Nanta.

The second part of the experience space operation program will be filled with experience and event booths that everyone can enjoy, with the participation of related organizations including the Dementia Care Center.

△Guro-gu Dementia Care Center (stress and blood vessel health checks, smart cognitive program experience, dementia patient family art exhibition, bazaar, photo zone, sweet cotton candy), △Bucheon University Beauty Care Department (face painting experience), △Yes Hospital (blood pressure and blood sugar measurement, health counseling), △Seoul Digital Learning Center (robot, AI, virtual reality, unmanned terminal experience), △Onsu Senior Welfare Center (traffic safety campaign), △National Health Insurance Corporation (body composition measurement), △Guro-gu Mental Health Welfare Center (depression and suicide scale test, mental health awareness event), △Guro Police Station (preliminary fingerprint registration for missing person prevention), △Dementia Care Village Volunteer Group (food booth, mobile memory cafe), etc. are operated free of charge, and any resident can participate.
