Aged Coppa Recalled From Shelves Over Listeria Risk – Health & Wellness

(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 20 – After the recall of numerous batches of bagged salad, attention for the risk of bacterial contamination shifts to cold cuts. Three recalls by the manufacturer have been published on the website of the Ministry of Health, concerning packages of seasoned Coppa of the Stella Montis, Bottega del gusto and Salumeria del Corso brands.
The recall was made necessary due to the microbiological risk due to the possible presence of the Listeria Monocytogenes bacterium. Consumers “are invited to return the product to the point of sale”.
In detail, the products affected by the recall are: Coppa Stagionata in a 90-gram pack, branded Salumeria del Corso (Lot 5524226); Coppa Stagionata, 100 grams, branded Stella Montis (Lot 5524226); Coppa Stagionata branded Bottega del gusto, 120 grams (Lot 5524226A).
All batches were produced by the company Industria Salumi Simonini Spa, based in the province of Modena, in Castelvetro and more information is available on the website of the Ministry of Health, in the section “Recalls of food products by operators” Listeriosis, or the disease caused by the listeria bacterium, generally presents itself as gastroenteritis within a few hours of ingesting contaminated food. In some rare cases it can lead to the onset of meningitis, encephalitis and septicemia. (ANSA).
