Zelensky has promised to present Biden with the so-called victory plan for ending the war.
“I really hope he will support this plan,” Zelensky said at a joint press conference with European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen in Kyiv.
“The plan is designed for decisions that will have to be made between October and December (…). We would like that very much. Then we believe that the plan will work,” he added.
Zelensky will travel to New York next week to attend a session of the UN General Assembly and meet with US officials.
It is planned that on September 26, the President of Ukraine will meet Biden and the Democratic presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, in Washington, the White House announced.
Kyiv reported that Zelensky also plans to meet with former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Zelensky has also announced that he plans to hold another international peace summit in November, where he will outline his vision for ending the war and to which Russia will also be invited.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has announced that Moscow will only enter into peace talks if Ukraine gives up four of its regions.
