The UN General Assembly has approved a Palestinian Authority motion calling for sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel, with 124 countries voting in favor, 14 against and 43 abstaining.

This was reported by the Telegram channel “Alexey Zheleznov”.

Israel’s reaction to the decision was extremely negative. Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Danon said the move was “shameful” and effectively supported “diplomatic terrorism” by the Palestinian Authority.

In his opinion, instead of condemning Hamas terrorists for the murders and calling for the release of those kidnapped, the General Assembly continues to follow a line that supports the terrorists.

43 countries abstained from voting, including such countries as Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece and others. These countries did not express explicit support for the proposed sanctions, but did not openly oppose them either.

In addition, 14 countries voted against the Palestinian initiative, including the United States, Israel, Hungary, Chad and Fiji.
