On Monday, September 23, the Budget Committee of the European Parliament meets.

On the agenda, among others, will be a vote on the Mobilization of the European Union Solidarity Fund to provide aid to Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Greece and France in relation to six natural disasters that occurred in 2023, with rapporteur, ND (EPP) MEP Giorgos Autias.

The proposed decision will free up almost €1 million for Member States. The EU Solidarity Fund was established to provide support in the event of natural disasters and, in 2020, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, its scope was expanded to include public health emergencies under the Response Investment Initiative of Corona virus.
