Google Calendar users will soon be able to enter birthdays directly. The feature will be introduced gradually and is intended to simplify birthday management.

Google has announced an important innovation for its popular calendar service. As the company announced in a blog post, Google Calendar will soon allow users to create and edit birthdays directly in the app. This long-awaited feature will initially launch on Android devices and is intended to make managing birthdays much easier.

Previously, users had to enter other people’s birthday information in their contacts or resort to third-party solutions. The new function promises more intuitive handling. A special “Birthday” button in the event creation allows you to simply enter the name and date of birth of the person in question without having to deal with unnecessary settings.

The new feature will be introduced gradually. According to Google, users can access the function in their browser from now on or from October 9th, depending on the settings they have chosen for updates. For Android users, the update will begin rolling out on September 24th. iOS users will have to wait a little longer, but will also be able to benefit from the new feature in the future.

The DMA prohibits tech companies such as Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft and Google from placing their own products preferentially in search results. This also has a similar impact on search results when searching for hotels and flights or shopping offers.
