Fall of two trees suspends service on Metro line B in Mexico City

by times news cr

On Wednesday afternoon, two trees fell on different sections of the track area on line B of the Mexico City Metro Collective Transportation Service, which runs from Buenavista to Ciudad Azteca.

Through its social networks, the CDMX Metro reported that the service was stopped to carry out the work of removing the logs, so a provisional transportation service was implemented in the sections of the Ciudad Azteca to Múzquiz and Villa de Aragón to Buenavista stations, in both directions.

From the Río de los Remedios to Nezahualcóyotl stations, no provisional transportation service was implemented.

Metro authorities reported that personnel from different areas are working to reestablish service as soon as possible.

Users of the service who are on board the cars heading to Ciudad Azteca report that they have been stopped for more than 50 minutes during rush hour; without being informed of how long it will take to resume service.

It was also announced that there will be no new charge for users re-entering the Metro Network from temporary transport services. Entry will be free.

Those who are stuck on Line B are asking other users to avoid entering the stations and to look for other transportation alternatives, in order to avoid saturating them, since the service has been blocked for more than 50 minutes.
