New Delhi: Nowadays the political temperature of the country is high regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024. Some legal experts and leaders of opposition parties are also among those opposing this bill. Opposition parties are trying to corner the BJP on this issue. On the other hand, legal experts and the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) openly opposed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 on Thursday. Appearing before a committee of Parliament, he registered his objections to the bill. During this, a heated debate was also seen among the members of the committee. In fact, BJP member Medha Kulkarni had raised questions on the formation of the Waqf Governing Council. There was an uproar over this and a heated argument started.
What is the whole matter?
The matter heated up when Kulkarni asked legal expert Faizan Mustafa questions on the formation of Waqf Governing Council. Mustafa is also the Vice Chancellor of Chanakya National Law University, Patna. Kulkarni demanded an apology from the opposition member, which he initially refused. However, later he apologized to Kulkarni in the presence of committee chairperson Jagdambika Pal and BJP member Aparajita Sarangi.

Apart from Mustafa, representatives of Pasmanda Muslim Mahaj and All India Muslim Personal Law Board also presented their views before the committee. Both Professor Mustafa and AIMPLB have opposed this law. At the same time, representatives of the Pasmanda organization have suggested several amendments in the bill.
