Mohammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor on Power and Energy of the Interim Government said that there will be no shortage of gas and electricity in the country due to the dollar crisis. He said that the load shedding that was there has been cut off. It will decrease further.

The advisor said this in a press briefing on gas storage at the secretariat on Thursday (September 19).

He said that the government has asked for 1 billion dollars from World Bank and 1 billion dollars from ADB as budget support. From here, efforts will be made to overcome the future crisis by paying the electricity and gas dues.

On this day, the adviser also talked about corruption in the power and energy sector. In response to a question, he said that if there are allegations of corruption in Gazprom, S Alam, Summit, the new committee will investigate. The White Paper Committee is also working on this. Contracts with rental power plants will be reviewed, corruption will be investigated in this case.

The energy advisor said that initiatives have been taken to dig 100 more wells across the country. No well shall be allowed to be drilled or constructed without open competition.
