Moroccan Kamil Belmrah wins silver medal at the World Water Ski Masters
Casablanca – Young Moroccan skier Kamil Belmrah (16 years old) won the silver medal at the prestigious World Water Ski Masters which took place on May 29 and 30 in Callaway Gardens in the United States.
Morocco is the first country in Africa and the Arab world to be able to participate in this prestigious competition which brings together the eight best junior and open skiers in the world after a qualification phase open only to invited skiers.
Kamil, who received an invitation, distinguished himself during the qualifying stages and secured a place in the final after a tough tie-break with American skier James Brian. Morocco made a very good impression in this highly publicized event in the United States.
The World Masters of Water Skiing takes place at Callaway Gardens in Atlanta during the month of May. Only the best skiers in the world are invited to compete in Florida for the qualifying series. This is the 61st edition in 2021.
Kamil Belmrah is currently preparing for the European and World Championships which will take place next August in Madrid and Florida.
