Foreign Ministry seeks to strengthen relations with Japan and Serbia

The Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of the Government of National Unity, Ashraf Al-Taib, met with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Japanese Embassy in Libya, Masaki Amadera.

The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation within the framework of the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s programs for the year 2025. The two sides also discussed strengthening bilateral relations and discussing future development projects that would contribute to supporting development and stability efforts in Libya.

On the other hand,On the sidelines of the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity to the Academy of Diplomatic Studies of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign AffairsThe Director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies, Khalifa Ahmed Al-Rahebi, met with the Secretary-General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dusan Kozarev, in the presence of the Libyan Ambassador to Serbia, Mohammed bin Ghalbun, and the Director of the Diplomatic Academy in Belgrade.

The meeting discussed “enhancing cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute and relevant parties in diplomatic training through exchanging expertise and organizing programs in various diplomatic and political affairs between the two friendly countries.”

Al-Rahibi also met, in the presence of the Libyan Ambassador to Serbia, Mohammed bin Ghalbun, with the Secretary-General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dusan Kozarev, accompanied by the Director of the Diplomatic Academy in Belgrade.

The meeting discussed “enhancing cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute and relevant parties in diplomatic training through exchanging expertise and organizing programs in various diplomatic and political affairs between the two friendly countries.”

The Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Khalifa Al-Rahibi, also met with the Director of the Diplomatic Academy, Marina Jovicevich.In the presence of the Ambassador of the State of Libya to the Republic of Serbia, Muhammad bin Ghalbun; this visit came in response to an invitation from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in 2022 AD, for joint cooperation in the fields of training between the “Institute and the Serbian Diplomatic Academy in Belgrade.”

The meeting discussed “ways to implement training exchange mechanisms between the two friendly countries in diplomatic fields; and how to benefit from the programs and expertise provided by both the Diplomatic Institute in Libya and the Serbian Academy in the field of training and qualifying diplomatic and political cadres.”
