/ The head of the Iraqi Volleyball Federation confirmed on Wednesday that the eighth round of the Premier Volleyball League will start on the 24th of this month in Al-Zubair Hall in Basra.
The head of the union, Habib Ali Al-Lawandi, told Shafak News Agency, “The hall of the Southern Gas Club will host the competitions of four rounds of the first stage, and the rounds will be completed in another place to be determined later.”
He stated that “tomorrow, Thursday, the competitions of the (7) teams that did not qualify will begin, and will be held in the Solaf Hall in Kirkuk at a rate of three matches each day. The first will be held at one in the afternoon, while the second match will be held at three in the afternoon, and the third will be held at five in the evening.”
Al-Lawandi added, “The draw will determine the matches, as the first three matches will be held tomorrow, the first between Haditha Club and Al-Sinaa, then Al-Daghra and Al-Numaniyah, followed by the match between Al-Muqdadiyah and (Abu Risha).”
He pointed out that “the matches will continue on Friday with three matches, the first of which will bring together the Abu Risha and Al-Sinaa teams, Al-Numaniyah will meet Al-Muqdadiyah in the second match, and the third match will bring together Al-Dughara and Haditha.”
He pointed out that “on Saturday, three matches will be held, the first between Al-Dughara and Al-Sina’a, the second between Haditha and Al-Muqdadiyah, and the third between (Abu Risha) and Al-Nu’maniyah,” indicating that “on Sunday, three matches will be held, the first between Al-Nu’maniyah and Al-Sina’a, the second between Haditha and (Abu Risha), and the third between Al-Dughara and Al-Muqdadiyah.”
Al-Lawandi concluded his statement by saying: “Finally, three matches will be held next Monday. The first will bring together Al-Muqdadiyah and Al-Sina’a, while the second will bring together (Abu Risha) and Al-Dughara, and finally the match between Al-Numaniyah and Haditha.”
