Widespread checks, bartender fined 8 thousand euros

Yesterday, the Portuense military, with the support of their colleagues from the Provincial Command of Ferrara and those from the “Special Units”, such as the Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit of Bologna, the Labor Inspectorate Unit of Ferrara and the Forestry Carabinieri Unit of Portomaggiore, implemented extraordinary checks in Portomaggiore, Argenta and Voghiera to prevent and repress violations of road traffic, such as alcohol abuse, but also in matters of work, the environment and food hygiene. During the service, in addition to subjecting four bars to thorough checks, as well as 10 vehicles and about thirty people, deemed to be of operational interest, the Carabinieri reported five people to the Prosecutor’s Office for drunk driving, crimes relating to the residence of foreigners and violations of safety at work. Furthermore, the manager of a bar was fined a total of eight thousand euros for violations in health and hygiene matters with temporary closure of the business, while a farmer was fined two thousand euros for not having stored some plant protection products correctly.
