Ratified in Plenary Session, Wantimpres Bill Officially Becomes State Regulation

jpnn.comJAKARTA – The House of Representatives (DPR) has ratified the Revised Law (RUU) Number 19 of 2006 concerning Wantimpres to become a state regulation.

This was revealed when the Indonesian House of Representatives held the Seventh Plenary Meeting of Session I for 2024-2025 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (19/9).

Initially, the Chairman of the DPR RI Legislation Body, Wihadi Wiyanto, submitted a report on the Wantimpres Bill at level I.

Wihadi said there were several changes included in the Wantimpres Bill, such as the change in the name of the institution to the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Gerindra Faction legislator said that the Wantimpres Bill also changes the rules regarding the responsibility of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“The amendment to article two concerns the responsibility of the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia to the President and the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia is a state institution as referred to in this Law,” said Wihadi in a Plenary Meeting, Thursday.

He said the next change in the revision was the regulation on the composition of Wantimpres which was determined according to the President’s needs.

Then, Wihadi continued, the Wantimpres Bill discusses the rules regarding the requirements to become a member of the institution.
